In 2020, the nonprofit Team Awareness Combating Overdose (TACO) was founded to provide judgment-free, science-backed, and unbiased drug education to college students. Their mission is to make an impact across college campuses, measuring the value of educational resources and harm reduction materials like fentanyl test strips and Naloxone. Within two years, they have expanded their distribution efforts to 18 different universities through four different distribution methods.

Additionally, to expand, the organization needed to increase donations, and be able to easily report these growing numbers to the IRS.

As they continued to expand, spreadsheets were no longer cutting it. They needed a way to track their data, impact and fundraising growth in one place, and as a volunteer-driven organization, have a simple way to manage this information and share it with regulators, university partners, volunteers, donors and the Board of Directors.

In 2022, TACO fully transitioned all of their data management to Ethos Tracking, with a major emphasis on tracking 100% of their annual budgets and national strip distribution. The platform’s flexibility to include nonprofit tax codes and adjust the Lever model to meet the nonprofits' needs has allowed TACO to transform how they look forward to their chapter expansion. TACO is now able to measure and compare their impact across different universities and understand what universities require bigger budgets than others when considering  fundraising efforts. Ethos Tracking makes it simple for the nonprofit organization to provide important budget numbers to their Board of Directors and the IRS. It also has enabled them to work more efficiently with their strip and Narcan distribution to maximize their impact across college campuses. Ultimately, with the use of Ethos Tracking, TACO is able to save more lives more efficiently, raise dollars more easily, and - most importantly - continue growing their impact across the country.
